Rules of the Board/Posting Guidelines

Every board has its rules which people are encouraged to follow. Ours is no different. We have made these rules with the intention of keeping the roleplayers safe and happy. Follow them and nobody gets hurt!

BOARD RATING

This board is rated the equivalent of T/PG-13 in the United States and 12A in the United Kingdom. We strongly suggest you stay within these guidelines:

• Gambling. Gambling within the confines of a roleplay is permitted, but actual wagering is strictly prohibited.

• Alcohol, Tobacco, Drugs. Casual alcohol and/or tobacco use is permitted. Illegal drug use may be implied but never used during the roleplay.

• Sexual themes. Sexual situations are limited to innuendo and heavy petting. Explicit sex is strictly prohibited.

• Violence. Cartoon violence! For the purposes of roleplays outside of the main story, go for it!

In the main story, though, that is not the case, as the creatures can possibly get hurt. All toon conventions will be thrown out the window for that one.

Graphic scenes are acceptable there, but try not to stray from PG-13. No scenes of guts are allowed, and minimal blood is permitted.

• Language. The use of mildly vulgar words such as damn and hell is permitted, but the S- and F-words aren't. Use at your own discretion.

POSTING RULES

• Posting intervals. Usually, people will post in a thread in a set order. Deviations from this order are permitted to accomodate conversations. Talk it over with other roleplayers to agree on something.

• Post length. There is no minimum or limit as to how much you can post, although try to post something more than two or three words!

• Use past-tense writing only. Using present- or future-tense writing can be a disruption when reading. Please stick with this form of writing when composing a post.

• Post in the third person. Do not write from the perspective of the character, or write as if you are the character. Doubly to be avoided: mixing tenses!

• No god-moding. The control of other people's characters without permission from the player is strictly prohibited. This includes forcing characters into situations they do not want.

• No metagaming. No taking advantage of information you are not supposed to know in-character.

• Maintain activity. Real life is always more important than roleplaying, but for courtesy's sake, please use this board to notify the group what is happening. We'll work something out that will satisfy all roleplayers.

• Character limits. In order to give more people a chance to get into the action, players are permitted to play no more than four characters to start. This number may change at the moderator’s discretion.

RULES OF CONDUCT

• Be respectful of other people. Acting rude to other roleplayers is a serious no-no. Treat people the way you want to be treated. We reserve the right to kick anyone out who continues to act in this fashion.

• Avoid drama. Any conflicts or disputes with other roleplayers must be taken privately. There is certainly no need for other people to be caught up in the quarrels of a few. Do not continue to be difficult with other members of the roleplaying team.

• Use proper spelling and grammar. Not everyone here has perfect English skills, but put some effort into what you post. Bad spelling and grammar is generally frowned upon.

• Keep cursing to a minimum. Cursing is to be done in limited amounts and within the board's PG-13/T/12A rating. Excessive cursing will be grounds for a warning or punishment.

• Discord recommended but not required. We currently have a Discord server where the whole group gets together for plotting or some plain fun! If for some reason you cannot use Discord, seek out an alternate client.
